The Triffid

Those of you familiar with the concept of triffids will know that this isn't one. Triffids are a fictional plant that take over the world in the book "The Day Of The Triffids" by John Wyndham. This is just a random plant (feel free to educate me as to it's exact species in the comments) that I thought would be a particularly good test of my camera's Macro mode. I think it came out rather well.

The colours have been slightly enhanced, not by much though.

Taken on a Nikon D40 with a nice low aperture to blur the background.

Until the next photo.

A Walk Around Stilton

Here's a nice little number. Taken during a pleasent walk around Stilton (near Peterborough, just off the A1). During this walk I was teaching one of my best mates how to use his camera. This picture was a perfect example of how a camera without a filter struggles to expose on both subject and sky. I therefore showed him how to take two different photos one of sky and one of subject and then put them together in Photoshop. You can tell the sky is faked as it looks slightly unatural, but I like that.

Here's to many more pleasent walks around Stiltonshire and many more pleasent photos.

Welcome To A Life in Photos

Welcome on and all to A Life in Photos. I know I've done pretty well on the arty farty title for this blog. Here I will try to post on a weekly basis some of my photos and general musings on life. If general life musings aren't really you're cup of tea then you can at least look at the pretty pictures. If pretty pictures aren't you either then to be honest, it's amazing you even got this far you clot.

However if you like either of the affore mentioned items (musings or pretty pictures) then congratulations on finding what will probably be the only blog you will ever need.

Happy Blogging and Snapping

Matt
